The 4th Workshop on Maximum Entropy and its Applications (WSMEA 2021) will be on July 7, 2021 (Wednesday). The workshop is organized by the Department of Mathematics of the University of Aveiro and the Center for Research & Development in Mathematics and Applications (CIDMA, University of Aveiro).

Aims and scope

The theory of maximum entropy plays an important role in the analysis of ill-posed problems that occur in diverse areas of science. It is related to the foundations of info-metrics, a research area at the intersection of statistics, computer science, information theory, and many other fields. This workshop aims to join together researchers from different areas, promoting discussion and inter-disciplinarity. The workshop will consist on invited and contributed talks, and contributions from both theoretical and applied perspectives are welcome. The key topics of interest are:

    • Probability and Statistics;

    • Information Theory;

    • Statistical Physics;

    • Applications of Maximum Entropy.

You are invited to submit the abstract of your contributed talk to the workshop in one of these areas (but not limited to), using the form in abstract submission.

Please consider the presentation time to be around 15 minutes.

We very much look forward to your participation.
