Abstract:
The Heisenberg algebra H plays a fundamental role in mathematics and physics, in particular, in representation theory and quantum mechanics. In my talk, I will give a brief introduction to a categorical analog of H, due to Mikhail Khovanov. Time permitting, I will say a few words about some generalizations and applications.
